Vintage Kansas trade/merchant token from The Schaeffler Mercantile Col, in Hillsboro Kansas, 1.25" in diameter. A mix of patina brass chain and sterling silver chain suspends the token in the 30" necklace, connected with Baltic amber and amethyst. 1870-1920's saw the highest use of trade/merchant tokens, mostly for promotion and extending credit in rural towns.
