Kansas trade/merchant token from John A. Levin General Merchandise, Lindsborg Kansas, 1.5" in diameter, "Good For $1.00 In Merchandise" printed on the opposite side. Patina brass and sterling silver chain work together to create the 32" length of necklace. Domestic turquoise and amethyst beads add some funk. 1870-1920's saw the highest use of trade/merchant tokens, mostly for promotion and extending credit in rural towns.
